The Michigan Wild Junior Hockey Club of the USPHL are pleased to announce the hiring of John O’Leary as our head coach for the upcoming 2016-17 season. “I’m very excited to have John join our organization,” said Jeff Price, Michigan Wild owner. I felt John’s philosophy and approach to the game at the junior level best exemplifies the values, principals and the mission that the Michigan Wild ownership stands for.”

Coach O’Leary holds a USA level 5 Masters certification and brings over 20 years of coaching knowledge and experience to our organization.  He has coached at the High School, AAA, and Jr levels with multiple league and state championships under his direction.

John brings with him a wealth of experience on and off the ice, as well as energy and excitement is needed to move our program forward! With his hockey knowledge, emphasis on player development and skill building, and his ability to build strong teams we look forward to having him lead our program into the future!

“I want to thank Jeff Price, for this amazing opportunity”, says new head coach John O’Leary. “I am looking forward to working with some great hockey players and helping them advance in their careers”. I know what these players will need to do to further them in hockey.  Being located in the Metro Detroit area, with the facilities and staff that we have, I feel the Michigan Wild will be an organization Junior Hockey players will want to play for. I look forward to helping our players achieve their goals on and off the ice, while developing a winning culture here.
